FAQs

What can I expect at my consultations?

Answer: An initial visit is usually between 30-60 minutes. To assess you fully, we take a thorough history and examine you. Our aim at your first visit is to relieve your pain and provide you with appropriate information about your condition.

A follow-up visit is usually between 20-30 minutes. We work out what is best for you and provide a full package of care from assessment to recovery, including exercises and an after-care programme.

You can request a male / female physiotherapist if you have a preference and can also be accompanied by a chaperone, if necessary.

What clothing should I wear for my appointment?

Answer: Please wear loose fitting clothing or clothing that can easily be removed if required. The practice have spare shorts you can borrow upon request, so please ask. For classes, please wear applicable clothing such as bathing suits and comfortable exercise clothes.

Do I need a GP referral?

Answer: You do not need a GP referral unless you are attending as a DVA, WorkCover or MVA patient, or are qualifying for treatment under the Medicare EPC system.

How do I pay for my appointment?

Answer: Payment is expected on the same day as your consultation, payment may be made by cash, cheque or credit card via EFTPOS. If you are privately insured please bring your health insurance card as we can use our HICAPS machine to bill the insurance company directly. Private health insurance may only cover some of the fee so please be prepared to pay a gap, if necessary. BUPA-aligned insurance companies have a special arrangement with us as a Members-First provider resulting in reduced gap payments.

How do I pay for my Aquatic Physiotherapy sessions?

Answer: Payment is expected on the same day. Please come into the clinic located at 160 Unley Road to pay your bill before or after your class. Do not pay at the pool!

Do you have a parking area?

Answer: Yes. Easy and free ample parking is available off Mary Street for our Unley location and in front of or behind the premises at our Kings Park location.

Do you do home / hospital visits?

Answer: Home or hospital visits may be available on request. An account will be issued and payment is expected within 14 days of consultation.

Can I cancel my appointment?

Answer: We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to everyone, we require
• 4 business hours advance notice when cancelling an appointment.
• If you are unable to give us 4 business hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment.

Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be charged for their missed appointment and future service will be denied until payment is made.

If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointment follows yours. Depending upon how late your arrival the Physiotherapist will then determine if there is enough time to properly treat you. Regardless of the length of the appointment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” appointment.
