Here is the list of the most frequently asked questions.

If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact us or complete our enquiry form.

What can I expect at my consultations?

An initial consultation is usually between 30-60 minutes. To assess you fully, we take a thorough history and examine you. Our aim at your first visit is to relieve your pain and provide you with appropriate information about your condition.

A follow-up consultation is usually between 20-30 minutes. We work out what is best for you and provide a full package of care from assessment to recovery, including exercises and an after-care programme.

You can request a male/female physiotherapist if you have a preference and can also be accompanied by a chaperone, if necessary.

Do I need a GP referral?

You do not need a GP referral unless you are attending as a Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), WorkCover (WC) or Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) patient, or are qualifying for treatment under the Enhanced Primary Care Medicare (EPC) system.

Motor Vehicle Accident patients are required to pay on the day of treatment and will be issued with a receipt which will enable a claim back from the associated Insurance Company.

Enhanced Primary Care Medicare patients’ initial assessments will be 20 – 30 minutes. A longer consultation can be requested. A gap will be charged for which the patient is responsible.

What clothing should I wear for my appointment?

Please wear loose fitting clothing or clothing that can easily be removed if required. The practice have spare shorts you can borrow upon request, so please ask. For Hydro classes, please wear applicable clothing such as bathing suits and a t-shirt and for Land based classes please wear comfortable exercise clothes.

How do I pay for my appointment?

Payment is expected on the same day as your consultation, payment may be made by cash, cheque or credit card via EFTPOS.

If you are privately insured, please bring your health insurance card as we can use our HICAPS machine to bill the insurance company directly. Private health insurance may only cover some of the fee so please be prepared to pay a gap, if necessary. BUPA and HEALTH PARTNERS-aligned insurance companies have a special arrangement with us as Members First Providers resulting in reduced gap payments.

How do I pay for my Aquatic Physiotherapy sessions?

Payment is expected on the same day. Please come into the clinic located at 160 Unley Road or at 309 Goodwood Road to pay your bill before or after your class. Please do not pay at the pool.

Do you have a parking area?

Yes, Easy and free ample parking is available off Mary Street for our Unley location.

Do you do home / hospital visits?

Home or hospital visits are available on request. An account will be issued and payment is expected within 14 days of consultation.

Can I cancel my appointment?

We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to everyone, we require

  • 4 business hours advance notice when cancelling an appointment.
  • If you are unable to give us 4 business hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment.

If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointment follows yours. Depending upon how late your arrival the Physiotherapist will then determine if there is enough time to properly treat you. Regardless of the length of the appointment actually given, you will be responsible for 50% of 1 on 1 consultations or the full amount for group classes.
